Hello all,

Is there an aftermarket muzzle brake that will slip or bolt on my Remington 700 SPS in 30-06 ?

Your only real option for a gun like that is getting one threaded or pinned on. There is way too much pressure for any clamp-on setup (if you could find one) to stay on. Be aware that a muzzlebrake is going to make your gun have less recoil but more noise so if it is a rig that you plan on hunting with it will wreck your hearing. We can supply you with a DIY brake kit with a crush washer but you'd need to have the barrel threaded or turned down to a specific diameter on the last .750" of the barrel. Our other brake requires some more specific machining of the barrel and is custom built to fit your gun.

This is the KA-1230 that generally doesn't require a gunsmith to install

This it the KA-1830 that are custom built and installed at our shop

Don't waste your money on clamp on muzzle brakes for anything. You may get a few rounds out before you see it fly down range. They will not hold.

Amen to that, seen a few of them suckers go quite a ways too :D

Hmm.....it'd be interesting to see how far they could launch them. Maybe we could start up muzzle break launching competitions, where instead of sending lead downrange you send down muzzle breaks, and whoever's goes furthest is the winner. Everyone would get the same cartridge loaded to the same specifications, so aerodynamics of the muzzle break and the efficiency of its energy transfer would be the only factors that could be tweaked. Might even lead to the design of better muzzle breaks. :neener:

(yes, its late, and I've had too much caffeine :p )

Oh No Rego... then there'd be the same 'ole tired "my muzzle-brake shoots 1/2 moa... can yours?", or "What sheds dirt and rocks better... stainless, parkerized, or teflon coated?". I see the potential for soo many cans of worms being opened by your suggestion. (smiling!)

But some rifles like AR-15's I just cant picture without a flash supressor or muzzle break.

That scope looks to me like a Center Point 4-16X40. If it is, they are an economical tactical reticle scope with illuminated reticle green and red of various intensities. The glass is pretty clear and they hold zero pretty well too. The price tag is about $79.97 to $89.97 at Wally World.

Not a bad scope for the money really! Center Point is a division of Crosman Air rifles. But this scope is far superior to an air rifle scope IMO! I have 2 of them... That's how I know! I have mounted one on a 30-06 and the other on a 300 Win Mag and .243 Win rifle.
