Are there different muzzle devices that will work better for longer ranges of shooting?

I am having trouble maintaining my sight picture through my scope after firing a shot. Is there a muzzle device that will help with that?

Just a thought I had. I'll keep working on controling the rifle and all that but what do you think?

Compensators/muzzle brakes can cut down on that.
They are horrendously loud for anyone standing to the sides of you since they direct the gas that way though.
What is the rifle? Maybe someone here can suggest a good one for that application.

What cal are you shooting? and what power on your scope do you shoot your smoke stick?

BCE .308 Battle Comp is regarded as one of the best but runs over $200.

Or save your money and learn to accept that you're going to lose your sight picture shooting .308.

For the 308, look at a linear comp. They control muzzle lift, not so much rearward recoil. D9 firearms just came out with one that rocks. A lot of guys are using them on the 68 forum. I'll be at his shop tomorrow, so I'll get a pic if your interested. I like the levang on my 223 ar. Miculeks are extremely effective, but like was said they are annoying for others(not really my problem:D)

Don't know about a muzzle device but you can put mercury tubes in it and reduce the recoil significantly. Each tube is rated to take of about 30% of felt recoil at about $70 each.
