The following handout came with a Glock 34 that was purchased in the state of Colorado. I couldn't resist typing it up, and adding some of my own comments to it (my comments are in italics).

Warning from the Massachusetts Attorney General
(in other words, some idiot with a Law Degree that spent millions of dollars to get elected so he can shoot his mouth off about things he doesn’t know jack sh*t about. Of course that makes him a qualified expert on gun safety.)

This handgun is not equipped with a device that fully blocks use by unauthorized users.
(AKA, its not equipped with a device that DOESN’T exist. Nothing in the world can “fully” block use by unauthorized users. Safes, trigger locks, etc, are only barriers that slow down such events, but nothing is foolproof)

More than 200,000 handguns like this one are stolen their owners every year in the United States. In addition, there more than a thousand suicides each year by younger children and teenagers who get access to firearms. Hundreds more die from accidental discharge. It is likely that many more children sustain serious wounds, or inflict such wounds accidentally on others.
(also, thousands of criminals are shot, and millions of criminals are scared off by legal owners of handguns, but why confuse the issue with facts? Swimming pools kill FAR more children then accidental gun shots, and you don't see the Mass-hole lawyer shipping swimming pool safety pamphlets do you ? )

In order to limit the chance of such misuse, it is imperative that you keep this weapon locked in a secure place and take other steps necessary to limit the possibility of theft or accident.
(God forbid you have your weapon with in easy reach when you need to waste the rapist or serial killer breaking into your house)

Failure to take reasonable preventive steps may result innocent lives being lost, and in some circumstances may result in your liability for these deaths.
(Just like “reasonable” gun control that the People’s Socialist Paradise of M******* has that basically turns the people there into un-armed sheep that get overtaxed, and have no effective means to defend themselves from criminals and lawyers like you. We're from the Government, and we're here to help. )

(I'd like to add one final comment. Why aren't MA senators such as Ted Kennedy forced to hand out similarly worded warnings when they run for office. I.E. "By voting for me and similar minded socialists, your taxes will go up, and your civil rights will go down. Every year, hundreds of vote buyers like me run for office and increase our bloated government even more." We could call it truth in advertising. )

The sad part is Glock’s are not on the approved to buy list in MA.

becasue it's supposed ot be a given that no matter who you vote for, All of the above WILL HAPPEN- the only difference is which rights get infringed, and how the tax is applied

Don't care and note your post gave nothing to the discussion as was stated.:neener:

If I remember correctly the last pistol I bought came with a booklet with warnings from several different state Attorney Generals. I remember the arnings where from Mass, NY, CT, CA, MD and a few others.

Glock 22 bought in California came with the same handout.
The nanny state at work. It's for the same reason that a household cleaning product bought at a Wal-Mart in New Hampshire carries a notice that the product contains a chemical known to the State of California (but, apparently, not to any of the other 49 states) to be carcinogenic (when administered in megadoses to defenseless laboratory rats).

It's probably a misconception that everyone in Massachusetts has gone over to the dark side. Nothing could be further from the truth. We don't have any monopoly on moronic politicians who spew such drivel. It seems that ours are just more noticeable. This AG lost badly in the primary for governor, due in part to his cosy relationship with the companies involved in the disaster called the Big Dig.
It is a shame that the birthplace of liberty, has turned into the sorry excuse for statehood in the 21st century. Perhaps it will serve to be a clear and loud reminder to those of you who enjoy better representation particularly with respect to RKBA, to not let your state disolve into what our state has become. "Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty".
In the mean time, those of us here, who still light a candle against the darkness, take heart in knowing that most of America, still gets it and will fight the good fight.

AG of Mass

Cerca Trova:how I pity you to live in the great state of Mass.where did all the licensed gun owners go.only 200,000 left in the state.Come on down with us Bubbas.say hello to Nancy at GOAL.you any where near Milford.that Riley is a nut cake.:uhoh: :uhoh:

Well Teddy

Thanks for the invite, but no pity necessary. I like to think of us here as gun owners, concentrate... You got to really want to RKBA here, given the hoops that we have to jump through. On other local boards, there is an active and intense group, very serious about our rights. Despite the small numbers, it's my hope that the leftists and their whole bankrupt philosophy will collapse under its own weight, eventually. Leaving the state only serves to strengthen their side, and weaken our own. I, for one, am not leaving. They say that history repeats itself. Hopefully, liberty and freedom, that were born here, and moved away, may find its way home once again.

!!!

Would that mean then that the pistol was shipped in from MASS at some point, or this just same lame warning that some guns are getting on them now?
