I finally set up my 617s for Steel Challenge the way I think they should be. Both are set at 8 pounds for Double Action shooting and are very smooth.

The 6 inch has an LPA rear sight and Dawson Precision Green Fiber Optic Front.
Four inch has a Bushnell First Strike 2.0 with 3 MOA dot.

Both also are set up with Miculek grips from Hogue.

I use DS-10 speed loaders throughout the match and I'm very happy with their speed and reliability. The new model releases the ammo faster and is much easier to grab from my belt loops.

I bet.
I am cheap and lazy so I have shot mostly RFPI, a little RFPO with SW and HS, respectively.
Haven't been recently, can't get anybody to go with me and the drive is seeming longer.

It's one of the few pleasures I still have in life. At 70 I make sure I get out to at least two matches a month. The heat is beating me up this year but I'm taking care of myself.

One of the shooters brings a large cart with umbrella. He also has a portable AC unit on it and makes sure I'm in the shade with the fan on me during the day. Good to have friends.
