My 629 hand-cannon

I'm in the process of polishing it, and I plan on buying some bonded ivory grips soon, and since it's a round butt, I'll be buying round butt grips. Eventually I plan to have some engraving done and some El Paso Saddlery leather to accompany it. I decided earlier this week that I wanted a BBQ gun and that my XD nor M&P could fill that order; so the S&W is getting a facelift.

Very nice ! But ivory could be very slippery - you don't want that on a heavy hitting BBQ gun

I have thought about that.

I've been looking at these too http://www.ahrendsgripsusa.com/tactical.htm The Round Butt Finger Groove, and then checker them a little.

What wood would look best with engraved stainless?

I have an El Paso shoulder holster (M3 type) for my 629. Also have a 4" N frame "Tom Threeperson" from them I use with another S&W. It's excellent, too. Love their work.
