My 686+ - pic heavy

It was to nice out today to resist getting a few more shots of my Lew Horton 686+. This is the first snubby I've bought and it won't be my last. They are a bit addicting!

So far it's had a trigger job and I've got a set of Goncalo Alves retro combat round butt grips from Ahrends coming. The grips should be here in a couple weeks, can't wait to get them put on.

Also on the list of stuff to do is night sights. I'm leaning towards the Mepro lights as they make an adjustable pair for the 686.

The flames on the cylinders used to be etched in black but it started coming off due to my cleaning solvent. :eek: My solution was to add more solvent and a little rubbing to completely remove it. It's nice and suttle now and I like the way it turned out.
 
I figured some folks would have already 'flamed' the flames! If I would have been told about this without seeing it, it well could have been me. I really like it. Very different and very nice.
 
Very nice, the flames were the first thing I noticed and they are very well done. I think you made a great choice to remove the black.
 
Wow! I never saw a flame job on a revolver cylinder.
Not really for me but, it does look very cool and well made.
 
Thanks for all the compliments guys! When I was looking for a 686, I stumbled across this one in one of my FFL's catalogs...who also happens to be in the family now ( read that as really bad on the checkbook). :D The price he gave me was 15 or 20 dollar higher for this 686+ with the flames over a stock 6 shot 686 so I figured I'd jump on it.


more forty fives - this was a special edition that Lew Hornton did. I can look at the box and packaging to see if there is in additional info on who might have done the flames.
