I have and shoot S&W revolvers from the 30s to the present day and have never had a screw come loose.

I've had my crane come lose on my 629 during some bowling pin matches. I just learn to check it. This is through 200+ rounds of stout magnum shooting, fast and furious like.

I'd say if you've never had a revolver loosen up after heavy shooting, you're not shooting enough.

wow...sitting here watching game one of the series (Go Mets!) and in between innings I break out the precision screwdriver set to check my two smiths (686+ and 325 TR) and lo and behold, screws closest to the grip on both take an eighth of a turn to tighten!

BTW, both screws in front of the trigger were tight...this will now be a regular check for me.
