As some of you may know, I'm in the process of escaping from the Socialist Workers Paradise of Maryland and moving to the United States... specifically the great state of Pennsylvania. We're in the new house already and settle on the old one at the end of next week... so the process is nearly complete.
Anyhoo... when we put the old place on the market I sold my smallish Amsec safe to a buddy and removed it - and my guns - from the premises. They (the guns) have been in hiding at a secure undisclosed location pending the arrival of their new home. Well - a week or so ago it arrived... the biggest honking safe Fort Knox makes. Found a perfect spot for it at the new place and now my babies are back home... in the land of the free! It sure feels good. Oh - and now I've got lots of empty safe space just begging to be filled... have to get busy with that
BTW - getting the safe into its final location was no easy task. For anybody in the VA, WVA, MD, or PA area who's thinking of getting a safe I can't recommend Steve's Services highly enough. He was the only dealer I talked to who didn't try and sell me a smaller safe than I wanted, simply because it would have been easier to install. Steve is a great guy to work with, offered great advice, and didn't try sell me more safe than I wanted (in terms of bells and whistles that don't add to security). I'd be happy to furnish his contact info to anyone who PMs me.
Glad to hear my Maryland friends may be getting a break with this new "internal lock" that's become available... hope your dealer's shelves do start to fill up as expected. Up here in the Land of Freedom the shelves are already overflowing. Time for PAshooter to get crackin'...
