My Bergara 6.5 CM Arrived!

Guys,

My Bergara 6.5 CM arrived yesterday! I took the scope off another rifle of mine and took it to the range to see how it'd perform. I will post pics below but first I thought I'd share my initial thoughts on the rifle. When I opened the box the first thing I noticed was just how nice the stock is! I really like the way the grip is designed, multiple methods to attach a sling, and its adjustable. Next I cycled the action and it was tight and smooth. Then I tried the trigger and it was outstanding, very light. I got it to the range and ran some factory rounds thru it and then ran five rounds that I load for my Custom Creedmoor thru it. Below you can see the difference. The smallest group is from my load. For reference the red target dot is one inch. I also took my two other Creedmoors with me and shot them. The third and forth targets are from my Custom and my AR-10 Creedmoors. And as usual I pulled one in each group. Invariably it's the third or fourth round.

Ive been impressed with the Bergara i own, thats for sure.

Id expect accuracy to improve as it settles in. Mine certainly did.

My Bergara shoots well too. Prime Ammo, made in CO, shoots great through mine and I've struggled to find a handload that's much better. You may want to give it a try sometime.

Those HMRs are getting really good reviews, what factory ammo were you using, and what was the range on the top two targets?

The Hornady 140gr ELD, and especially the 143gr ELDx factory loads have been Shooters in my Creeds.

The one on the left was Hornady factory ammo, 129gr SST, and the one on the right is my load for my Custom 6.5CM.

Nice groups. I saw one of those in a shop the other day and realized that I don't know much about them. Pretty looking, too.

I handled one of those today at my LGS. I was very impressed with how smooth the action was and the fact that the trigger was excellent right out of the box. What's not to like? Nice rifle

Fine looking rifle with great potential for being a real tack-driver. I have been thinking about getting something in 6.5 Creedmoor and this could fill the bill. Thanks for sharing.
