I have a Bushmaster Ar15 A3 - How do I tell if it is Chrome lined or ? Carbon steel - I was told it was Chrome lined when i bought it (rep dealer
in Florida) - Is code Serial # No or something identify what I have -

Can anyone advise -

I would think but do not know for sure that Bushmaster would have the record by serial number if the rifle was delivered with a nitride or chrome upper.
 
It should be stamped on the barrel with the manufacturer, chamber and any testing done on the barrel (though not necessarily so). "CL" or "Chrome Lined" would be what to look for.
 
I don't believe BM keeps track of those detail by Serial number.. However they should be able to tell you what markings to look for. Like Mr. Clean said it is usually CL, or something similar.
 
If you release the rear takedown pin, flip the upper up, and remove the BCG and charging handle, you can see the chamber of the barrel. If it's silvery shiny looking, then the barrel it's chrome-lined. If its black, then the barrel isn't chrome lined.
 
My chrome lined Daniel Defense barrel is a weird bluish silver matte color in the chamber. It's not shiny in the least.
