This is working for me really well. I kind of learned it from the Natural Man, but instead of having a powder flask on my belt, I have my "flask horn" worn over-the-shoulder, so that it hangs down on my right side, between my GI canteen, and my pack. At "belt-level". Stays put there, does not flop around. Then the cap-pouch filled with lubed bullets on me belt, and the capper around my neck.

So, to quickly re-load, reach down, finger over the spout, hit the lever, turn right-side up (spout side up) and pour into chamber. Grab a bullet from the pouch, put in chamber, ram down. Then when ready to cap, BAM! Hit the nipple with the capper. All done!

You'll see there's a .32ACP case on the end of the spout, that's for snow, if I fall on my butt, the spout won't get packed with snow. It comes right off, and I can just drop it, have plenty of those cases, and can throw some extras in the pack. Expendable! In other words, I don't have to retain it, or fiddle-fart around with it if I'm being surrounded by the wolves. Just drop it.

I've noticed that the cap-pouch is sturdy enough to hold combustable (SP?) cartridges, probably almost two dozen .36 caliber ones. I'll be getting around to making those one of these days soon. But it's kind of cool being able to put about 50 bullets in the pouch, and then the horn-flask holds enough powder for at least that many shots. A bit slower than combustion-cartridges, but not much, and light years faster than my previous in-the-field reloading methods.

Yes that's my trusty Uberti Remington Navy that Uberti's daughter brought over here as a sample gun when she was the U.S. sales rep. And it's a ringer for sure. Anyhow, how do y'all reload in the field, when out hiking/hunting/exploring/trekking, being chased by bad guys, or surrounded by lions and tigers and bears?
