okay, so my dad died the month before last and he will be missed by his congregation and his family. he told me two months befroe he died that he knew hed not live to see the new year. so today i got a big box in the mail from his shyster lawyer and i had to break a seal to get inside the box. i recognized the seal as the one my dad used to tag gas meters back in the fifties in oklahoma when he was going to seminary and working for oklahoma gas and power when i was a small child.. he decided not to let my thieving brother and brother in law have the last laugh at his epense.
in the box were books i read as a child. Colonel Whelan and Bradford Angier
two of the finest men to write about the outdoors, hunting , tracking camping and everything about everything there was to know about the outdoors and survival .
Calvin Rutstrum , who was a modern day pioneer of outdoor life and a personal friend of my dad and grand dad.
Allan Eckert who wrote non fiction books for many years and in turn taught me how to win and the truth about history and how it does repeat itself again and again
On your own in the Wilderness is a great guide
The new way of the Wilderness is also a great guide
Wilderness Empire gives an accurate account of history and has wonderful maps of the north eastern us before the roads were put in.
hunting, survival skills, rifle care, reloading ammunition, camping, conservation, it isn't taught much anymore. kids today are more concerned with mp3 players and not about how to build a fire or skin a rabbit and cook it so you'll have something to eat .

hey kids, the wilderness is still there ...its been there along time and will be there long after we are extinct..thank goodness some fathers and grandfathers are teaching wild craft and woodlore to deserving young teens so they have a chance when its time.

dad knew what he was doing with me, teaching me the lore, and the craft
too bad my brother wasn't interested in anything but what he wanted , money and power. too bad the money is nearly worthless and the power has been turned off...:):):)

That's really cool that he thought to do that for you. Sorry about your loss, but at least you have some things to cherish.

Condolences. Don't lose touch with your brother just because he doesn't see or do things the same way you do, though. He's still your brother. Trust me.
