Yo Saint Dennis,

I know that feeling really well. Whenever I'd take tools outside to work on a project, my ex would ask why I brought that ax along. I told her it was so I could chop the legs off my tools before I left, if I forgot one, then I knew they'd be there when I got back.

I bought a Bench Priming Tool at the Lackland AFB BX around 1997 - it was marked down to half-price (~$35) because the tubes were missing. I called 'em up to order the tubes and the lady says we'll mail them out in the morning. I says, how much, she says, no charge. I says, they were lost & I bought it knowing it, and how much. No charge. It's been that way every time I have called, and I can assure you, they have earned 10 times the material cost in goodwill amongst such as us. Ditto for Dillon. Lyman was pleasant but charged me; Lee was snotty (~20 yrs ago) but finally honored the guarantee after arguing. So it goes, but RCBS cannot be beaten. I look for new stuff of theirs to buy to make it worth their while for my past help... :D

My daughter takes her license test tomorrow. Does RCBS make cars? 788 Hamm, My tools like to do that too but the wife would get on me if I chopped the legs off the boys. (It would make it hard to send them after beer durring the ball game too.)

I had a similar experience to Maj Dad's, bought a mixed bag of RCBS dies on eBay knowing that I'd be replacing some parts.
When I got in touch with customer service, they wouldn't take payment for anything, even the couple wear items I was after a spare for!

Same story when I was sorting out a set of dies I'd inherited from a grandfather, and found a bent depriming rod. No charge, and out the door either that day or the next.

RCBS is smart enough to know that the best (and cheapest) advertising is word of mouth. Every time they send out a $5 part for free they gain more customers because the guy tells 7 other people about it. Or if he's in here, he tells 100 people all at once.

RC, I was setting up my treestand a couple of weeks ago and I started talking coyotes with the land owner. He said his son-in-law saw a coyote in his yard, took out his rifle and shot. The coyote ran away...

My buddy said, huh... is your gun shooting ok? So, he took the rifle out and shot at a target. Sure enough, it was shooting 8" low...

Upon hearing this, his daughter stated... "oh yeah... I knocked that rifle down when I was cleaning your den last week....." :)

One can never be sure...

Glad to hear your story has a happy ending!

RC, metal eating termites got to the scale and the brass. You need to spray your stuff with insecticide before storing it in dark places.
