Congrats on your new DD M4!

.

If they offered a model with their 7" Omega Rail installed, instead of the Omega X 12.0 FSP, I'd snag one in a heartbeat!

If it comes from DD, why would you go with the Omega over the DD Lite?

Mike

it's your $, but that choice makes no sense to me either. i'd much rather have the factory installed lite

The DD Lite is just not my just of tea, that's why.
Heh. OK. I have an Omega and a DD Lite. How are they different in a way to make it not your cup of tea?

And I'd much rather have an Omega Rail with a FSB.

I simply prefer the look of the Omega Rail over the DD Lite with it's extension that covers the FSB. IMHO, it's stupid looking! It makes the front of the gun look completely out of whack.

So, neither of you agree with me. Ask me how much I care?

remain calm. it just seemed kind of nitpicky to turn down an entire DD gun over

The DD Omega is very slightly cheaper, slightly heavier (remember to include the weight of the stock bbl nut in the weight comparison), and slightly less robust. They look the same, however, as long as you compare the basic rail, as not all of them have the rail extended past the FSB.

No one is saying the Omega is a bad rail (like I said, I have one), but it is an odd choice for a custom built gun, as opposed to a retrofit.

Ok, I didn't realise that they offered the 'LITE' rail in a 7" version.

If that option was available on this gun, I'd buy one.

I simply don't care for the look of the 12.0 FSP rail that comes standard with this particular rifle is all..

I agree re: the forward rails, though the new vogue position for a small light is on the top of the bbl, in front of the front sight. This has some advantages, but I'm not sold on the setup.
