Thanks to Simmon's Gunsmithing for letting me borrow their gear so I didn't have to freeze my butt off in the garage to get this project done.

Without further delay:

....hummmm....it's not everyday you see a red handgun....(I need more time to think about this)

After thinking about this for a full five minutes,....probably wouldn't suit my tastes, but I'm happy you're happy.

Now how do you keep people from thinking it's a toy gun with the red muzzle?

I know, not for everyone. But it suits my tastes for the moment. If I don't like it later I can always change them again. The .50 barrels and mags for the DEagle are color matched to help save time and confusion when swapping. The black 44 barrel isn't quite as "loud" as the .50 setup. But if it's going to be a big silly gun, it might as well look the part ;)

Confusion is avoided because toy guns are supposed to have safety orange muzzles, plus only taking them out at the range and them going "bang" helps clarify as well :)

I think I went with such a loud color scheme because I'm getting sick of seeing olive drab on everything with "Tactical" stamped on it somewhere. They are my "fun" guns and I wanted them to look the part. :)

ROFL! No plans for going after red necks. Just the usual paper and steel plates :) Maybe the occasional bad hard drive. Reactive targets are the best ;)

Who did the refinishing work? What is the name of the finish?

At first I was in a bit of shock, but that Delta Elite looks pretty sharp. :)

How do i ruin a 1911??

Man that thing is butt ugly... :barf:

Should have left them fugly grips that were on it to begin with, that would have sealed the deal.

12-34hom.

Ok I'll do it... "Uhm it's a little... LOUD!"

And I have a little bias towards redguns... they're the ones that don't work. Though it does look like nice work.

I think it looks pretty cool. I'm not sure I'd want a red handgun, but whatever suits your tastes. Looks like a well-done job, and glad you like it. Also, you can carry them in public without a second glance because they look like toys! :D :p

They look like the Devil's Handguns.

As others have said, the Desert Eagle is more suited to wild coloring schemes like that. Not that I would mind a gold 1911, that is. ;)
