Walker Liner locks , in general, have a slightly tarnished image here. They happen to be my favorite lock type, so I thought I would put up a mini review of my latest carry knife, since the honeymoon phase is long gone.
It is an Emerson Mini CQC 15.
It is 154cm steel, 3.5", v grind, chisel edge, tanto, recurve blade. G10 scales, ti locking liner, and Nylatron washers. And weighs 4.96oz.
I replicated a few tasks this knife sees daily, that are outside of the norm, since I don't stop working to snap pics. And I of course cut stuff with it , but pics of that are boring.
Piercing...(used it as a can opener)
Boring.. counter and clockwise.Never had the lock slip.
Prying... (Had to remove a couple boards to trim the fence panel anyway)
And once, just for giggles, I did baton it.
This is where the lock settled after break-in when new. I prefer late to early, it isn't touching the liner. And it is rock solid, no play in any direction.
I really like this knife. It is tough enough for "non-gentle" use at my job. Waves open easily for the off chance I might need it for SD. Carrys great in the pocket. And the lock has never failed me.
As a further testament...this knife kicked a Para 2 to backup duty.
And I love Spyderco.
Hope this wasn't too long and boring to read.
