I liked to shoot at Harborsite Usana. They didn't care what type of ammo you used, they didn't care about magazine capacity. There were individual ranges so you could practice drawing from a holster, or shooting from behind barricades. Basically you paid your money for the day; stayed on your lane and stayed safe. No range officers, you had the whole range so you could call your own cold ranges. I am looking for a new range that is similar. Ideally within 50 miles of zip code 19711. I have checked online and 99% of places are either private, indoor, or have only a 50 yard rifle line. Does anyone know of a place where one could practice tactical drills or the like?

That's terrible... the closed range sounds like it was a shooters dream...

ANY range or club I've been too or joined has some kind of limitation on a persons ability to shoot. For example, the closest pistol range, does not allow drawing from the holster or rapid fire(incl double even tapping :banghead: ) and the nearest rifle range is limited to 100y and shooting off the bench only.

Good luck in your search.

Why did the range close? I had a similar event, although it was a private club range. It was perfect for REAL Life shooting. We also held kids days for NRA/CMP stuff. The county where it was at, overnight, placed so many regulations on the club and range, that we ran out of funds trying to comply. NRA refused to help, so Poof another good club and range destroyed by the anti's.

We had a local range close as well

I hope this doesnt start a trend

I have 2 that I go to that are 35 miles away each. (nothing closer)

man that range sounds like it was a dream range. wish something like that was around here. i go to an indoor range that does allow drawing from the hoster. others in the are don't.

Wow, I didn't know we even had a range like that around here :(

If you find anything, lemme know; I live in the same zip code :D I've been going into Maryland to the Elk Neck range.

Why didn't you guys go to the county board and other elected officials and complain about the strict regulations instead of blaming the NRA... Why didn't you do something instead of blaming other people?... These people are elected, aren't they??

Many of the local shooters I know will not support ranges and then complain if one can't make it. I have a range I can get to with 15-20 minutes of my house on a Wednesday night & shoot a .30-06 indoors. At least I realize I am very lucky to have a lifetime membership there.

I hope y'all can find a good range.
