For some inexplicable reason I never owned a Colt revolver before. I just bought an Officer's Model Match .22LR w/ 6" bbl made in 1958. They made very fine revolvers back in the day.

I just put a 50 rounds through to sight it in. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. The only downside is I'm not too fond of Colt grips.

There isn't a whole lot of grips being offered today for the Colt OMM. But keep in mind that it uses the same ones as the Python. Still lots of different styles and sizes of Python stocks out there... ;)

Congratulations!

I have an older version, an Officers Model Target made in 1938. Python grips will fit OMTs, OMMs, Official Police and Model 357s -- they're all the same basic gun.

Ravoncon, my congratulations on finding the finest .22 revolver ever made. The Colt OMM is simply THE gun when it comes to target .22 revolvers.

Vern is right about Python grips fitting the OMM. Plenty out there to choose from. One quick look at eBay will get you started.

And El Tejon - kindly let us know where those great Colt deals are. Colts cost an arm, a leg and a speen here in the northeast.

A local shop is listing a used OMM .22 for $515. You can't find a common .38Diamondback for less than $600. And Pythons? Forgetaboutit!

Here's mine with Python grips. I'm really pretty much a S&W guy but Colt made some fine guns and the Officer's Models are my favorites.

Yeah, I know what you mean! Vintage Colt wheelguns are the schnizzle! They do get a second look now that I've developed a taste for them :D

Inmates of Massachusetts can only dream about such prices. Due to our insane AG regulations the prices on "grandfathered" handguns reflect the iron law of supply and demand.

The Colt OMM is simply THE gun when it comes to target .22 revolvers.

In DA wheelguns, yeah, that's what I've heard. The OMM in .22LR is supposed to be outrageously accurate.

BUT I'd be willing to bet a Freedom Arms '97 in .22 could outshoot it, esp. with a match cylinder. And for dangsure the '83 frame can, although that's a big clunky beast...
