Well the local club had a three gun match scheduled and I had been dying to try it out. I was able to get out of working the weekend. What a blast! I recommend everyone try this once.
I learned a few things. I had never even tried to load a shot gun under stress. I messed that up big time. I was grabbing shells out of a vest pocket and started to put one in backwards....spend 40 seconds on the clock getting it out and the rest of the stage kicking myself. That was my big mess for the match. I also learned that I need an extension that allows me to put more than 4 shells in my 870 magnum express.
On the rifle I did better than I thought I would. I had never shot my AR like that. That was cool.
Pistol I did OK. I shoot IDPA twice a month so I was not worried about that part. The transitions from rifle to pistol/shotgun took some getting used to. I had a problem with the sight acquisition at times. I cannot wait to do it again.
