Jpwilly,
Kydex came from www.knifekits.com

Rivets are not rivets but binding post screws from www.fastenal.com

There is a bit more detail in the previous posts.

Pgeleven,
I would love to bust these out for people because they are quite simple but this is not exactly my design if you know what I mean.

Well done Otis! If I didn't already carry my XD in a Crossbreed, I'd send you some $$$ to build me one. I've had mine for about a year and a half now, and I do love it. The leather pad forms to your body and carry position after a week or two, and for the most part, keeps the form even with non-use. The kydex holds quite tight considering there's no retention screw.

I'd say my favorite part of the holster is where Crossbreed put the multiple holes for where the belt loops mount to so I can adjust not only the ride height of the holster, but also the cant. Your kydex forming looks just as professional as what they do @ Crossbreed. Thanks for the pics, and info showing how painless it would be for all of us to make our own ;)

Super job, and great detail in your how-to method. I always enjoyed working on holster modifications of my own, and now you've given me the information to try this method for myself. Much appreciated.

Carried all day today. Broke in nicely and was really comfortable.

To all that are thinking about doing this or playing with Kydex. Please do, there is nothing more satisfying than making a holster that fits you like a glove. I think that you will find this to be quite easy.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

Otis
