Where ever the good LORD puts me.
Well I'm a little slow in posting this but..

I got my first K-frame in the form of a 2" model 10-9! :D

I'm loving this thing, it has an amazing 8.5Lb DA trigger pull that is as smooth as the DA trigger pull on my PC tuned 3rd gen.

I bobbed the hammer and removed the SA notch. I know, hate me, I just prefer my SD revolvers to be DAO. (I do plan on getting another hammer and having it fitted just in case.)

I'm getting a black Tyler T grip to use with the factory stocks, but I'm liking the Hogue Banatms that came with it as well.

And now the part we all really like...

Nice choice for your first K frame. I second the notion of getting a Tyler T-Grip adapter for a more user friendly grip for concealed carry.

Congrats. The K is S&Ws best gun. It's near perfect in size and weight for 36 calibre. I've never understood need to eliminate the single action feature but it's your gun so whatever floats your boat/.

Model 10's are pretty much the base line K frame ,and have been around for some time.
I have your guns great grandad the 1st Model M&P 1899 (Army-Navy), and also a 2nd Model or 1902 M&P . Both over a 100 years old and still on the job .

I'm not a fan of DA only either but I bought the 1899 in a condition refered to as a Fitz Special. (Short barrel, bobed hammer, open front trigger guard)

It was the combat gun modification of an earlier time.

Very nice. No hate for the DAO. Makes a very good service/defense setup that is about as lawyerproof as an effective firearm can be.
Enjoy it. With any luck it will be the first of many.

My first K-frame

K-frames are just so right in so many ways. No mystery why they were the service sidearm of practically all US law enforcement agencies for half a century.

Definitely a much better arrangement with the black T-Grip adapter, both in terms of appearance and concealed carry.

Nice,, it will probably be around into the next century. The K-frame 10 is about as good as it gets for the 38 special.

I recently purchased a 10-7 in nickel but, opted to put Pachmayr(covering the back strap) rubber grips on mine. Great hold.

Colour me massively Kermit Green as I can't own anything with a barrel that short thanks to our firearms laws. And there's no doubt that a Model 10 with ANY barrel is a fine bit of kit.

That's a lovely gun you've got there. Enjoy it for all of us.

Oh... and while I smile at the idea of the trigger being so smooth it sure doesn't help the Kermit like green tone of my skin in getting back to normal... :D

Might think about Secret Service grips made by Eagle.

My 64 snub .38 shown there has them as does the Ruger Speed Six (it's also a .38 spl.)

Nice piece! I removed the hammer from my snub 38. If I have to use it, it will be at short range and likely in a hurry. I don't want to die with a hammer spur caught on my shirt or pocket.

I had the exact set up on my 10-5 2". I actually replaced the Tyler t-grip with a set of Badger custom boot grips. A little more bulk, better grip. You can see it on Badger's web site.

Do have a set on a j-frame? I have a set on my 642 and like them, but can't seem to find a review that compared the k-frame boot grip to the J-frame boot grip.

I like the slimness of the T grip and Magnas for carry, but they feel a little "roundy" in my hand.

"K" frames are one of my all time fav hand guns! I still have the first one I bought, that was in 1971, it's the left one in this pict.,

Hometeached1, I have the magna/t-grip set up an one j-frame and an old set of Badgers (not the boot) on another J-frame. The magna/t-grip is much better for pocket carry, but the Badger is better to shoot. Both J-frames are round butts. The only problem that I had with the Badger grips on the J-frame was they interfered with a speed loader. I used a drimmel tool to take that side down. I don't have that problem with the K-frame. I purchased a set for my Ruger SP101 a couple of months ago and like them on it too.
