Don't soak it in solvent, almost all commercial solvents on the shelf in the last decade are polymer safe, some are labeled, if it makes you feel better to have it on the label.
I mostly use solvent patches or solvent on a rag for the lower, not because I think I'll dissolve it <snerk> but because it wipes off easily and doesn't need heavy application of chemical cleaners, being non-porous and generally easy to get into. CLP and air blast for the not-so-easy to get to spots (wear goggles).
Cleaning product makers have noticed the polymer guns by now, don't worry about it too much.
