No I didn't buy a Sig.

I fired a Sig for the first time this past weekend. It was a 226.

Why didn't you guys tell me what a sweet gun it was? ;)

My next handgun will be a Sig.

I think the P226 is the best full size double stack 9mm pistol on the market. I've shot 'em all and owned most of them and the P226 is just plain sweet.

Yup. The 228 is the "chopped and channeled" version of the Sig 226.

Be advised. Sigs are addictive. I just bought a 220ST from Ernest Langdon and he mentioned that he enjoys the 225. Well, I'd always wanted to replace the one I stupidly sold my brother in law (and which he promptly traded for a Glock) so I went to Gunbroker and picked up a new 225 for $499.

I need a bigger safe.

Denton T. Young, I like my 9mm P226 a lot but I like my P228 better. I have large hands yet the smaller pistol feels better in my grip. When it comes to 9mms I am sure the gauge is a Glock 19; the G19 is the most size efficient Service 9mm I know of. The G19 is just about the size of a P228. Regards, Richard :D

Becareful cause once you buy a Sig they start popping up all over the place!

Tell me about it. It's gotten so bad I almost need a scorecard to tell what I do have and still need to get. I found myself thinking "that would be a nice one to have" until I remembered "hey, there's one already stuck in the back of the safe!"

Sorry there, Mr. Young! :( If I had known you hadn't
fired a world class SIG-SAUER handgun, I would have
been calling on you to take one for a test drive. :uhoh:
But, you must be warned-once you do try a SIG you
will be hooked; its more addictive than drugs.

My first love (besides GOD, country, and family) is the
.45 caliber SIG-SAUER P220A. I like it so well, I wish
I had bought an original "Browning BDA .45 caliber"
(the forerunner of the SIG-SAUER) version way back
yonder in 1975; when they first hit the U.S. market.

Hello Denton!

Mr. Ala Dan is "Mr. SIG/Sauer" around these parts to me and knows whereof he speaks.

I bought a SIG P229 .357 when they were the new gun on the block and was very pleased although I sold it to go back to my first love the Colt Government Model. However, I purchased a SIG/Sauer P226 9mm with high caps and have been very pleased with my choice as you apparently have as well. Good luck on your future associations with SIG and shoot well! :D

I am not an expert marksman by any means, but everytime I pick up my P226 at the range I amaze myself. It is nearly 9 years old, but you'd never know it.. It is the one gun I own that I know I will never sell or trade. I'm going to try the Hogue finger grips on it soon...

Morning Denton!

Thanks to my friend and fellow DixieLander Big G for
that fabulous introduction. :D

Let me began again by saying that I have made my living
a long time by arming myself with SIG-SAUER/SIGARMS
firearms. Not only do I trust in GOD, country, family, and
a .45 caliber SIG P220A; but I feel just as comfortable
with my 9m/m SIG P228. :uhoh: All told, I have used
those two along with a 9m/m (two-tone + N/S) P226
and a .40 caliber with N/S P229. But, home is where my
heart is; and for me that is with the .45 caliber P220A.

An opportunity to purchase both, a P220 and a P226
sounds like an excellent idea. ;) And as time rolls along,
I'm positive that you will want to had more SIG's to the
stable!:)

Best Wishes,

I've had several SIGs and my favorite is the sig 228, my 229 doesn't even begin to compare....
The next piece that I'm going to acquire is the CZ97b, but after that it will prolly be the SIG 225 or 226.

Mr. Young,

Should you buy a Sig...a suggestion.

I had (what I thought was) a bit too much creep in my new 226's
trigger.

I called Sig, they said send it back. I did.

When I got the 226 back, the trigger had gone from reasonably
good to awesome! No kidding!

What I got back in NO way compared to the gun's original trigger.

I checked around and found others had the same experience(s).

Soooo....I sent my 220 in too. The same deal. I called and got a return authorization # and shipped it to them via insured Priority Mail. It too came back ready to rock.

I honestly would not take a free trigger job on either gun!
The work was that good.

Just an F.Y.I.

You can't go wrong with a Sig!!

that's what you got from Sig, an Action Job ($80) for free.

my friend has a P225 that had an Action Job done to it and it's alot better than my P225.

Got one yesterday

I stumbled up on a p226 with 2 hi cap factory mags for 475.00 yesterday and immediately purchased it for a carry gun replacing a S&W 642....I havent shot it yet but from what I'm reading here I got a fine weapon-.....it has a little holster wear but I cant seem to find anything else wrong with it:D

SIG

I had a Sig P-220, loved it so much I had to have the P-245 when they came out. The 245 didn't fit my hand like the 220 and accuracy was only average. I traded it for another 220 (two-tone) Iv'e never regretted it for a minute. Love the 220,232,229,but will not miss that 245 at all.
