My glock 17 FTE!

Ok guys, today I had my first TWO FTE’s with my Glock 17. To start it off, I have approx 3,000 rounds through it. I have never had a problem. I recently added a lone wolf ported barrel and it still shot fine. Today I got about 30 rounds into it and I had my first FTE with the ported barrel. I changed back to the factory barrel after that and 30 rounds into it had my SECOND FTE!! It looked like the brass was exactly horizontal with the slide. Not like the traditional stovepipe. And again, this was the FACTORY BARREL. Anyone know what this might be? Both of these were in the middle of magazines.

Check the extractor to make sure it's not chipped; the ONLY problem I ever had with my 17 was when I chipped the extractor, and it skipped out of the extractor groove on the case.

What ammunition are you shooting. I've had some +P+ rounds seize in a dirty chamber of my Glock 19 and not eject. A good cleaning of the chamber fixes this.

Have heard of others having problems with CCI Blazer aluminum cases going the same thing.

What kind of ammo are you using?

It looked like the brass was exactly horizontal with the slide. Not like the traditional stovepipe.

This is a characteristic or quirk of Glocks if they experience a failure to eject. I've had a couple of very sporadic, random failures like this with my own, usually with WWB, which seems to be a bit feeble in terms of kick and roar, or when the gun is very dirty. Compared to the number of rounds fired through it, this failure rate is almost infinitesmal.

How dirty was the chamber?

Those would be the first two things I looked at, especially if you're sure the extractor is fine.

One other:
Does Lone Wolf's barrel have conventional rifling or polygonal? If polygonal, have you been shooting unjacketed lead out of these barrels?

And if you feel like it, would you mind clarifying this for me:

My feeble little brain is having a hard time understanding in what direction the brass is oriented when you have these hang ups. Are you meaning that the brass is parallel with the barrel when it gets jammed?

I was shooting monarch brand ammo from Academy. It was brass. The brass looked like it was perfectly set at the top of the ejection port. It wasn't sticking out of the side like a stovepipe. It was dead center at the top of the ejection port looking like a round that was about to fire. I'm sorry if that is confusing but that is the best way I can explain it.

Sounds to me like a magazine issue. Is it happening with the same mag each time? Could be a weak spring, or maybe some issue with the follower. How old is the magazine? Does the follower travel smoothly? Have you ever taken the mag apart for cleaning? Do you keep the mags loaded?

It also could be a weak charge in the ammo. Try a box of something else and see if you still have problems.
