Don't know what's got into me lately but I've suddenly gone on an impulsive buying spree and can't seem to help myself. :)

I originally started with the idea of shopping around to find a Walther or Manurhin PPK in .32. I just have always wanted one and being a big fan of Walther figured figured I needed one to add to my collection.

I already own a P99AS, 1944 P-38 with no import marks and a PPK/S stainless in .380. For the longest time I've wanted a .32 since that was the original chambering and I've heard such good things about them. Well last week one of our forum members saw my post and offered up his 1970 Manurhin PP in .32. Had to have it, bought it and after firing this weekend completely love it. It vaulted right to the top of my favorites. Didn't and doesn't change the fact that I still don't have the PPK in .32 though. :)

So I figured I was done with the buying spree. However, I made the mistake of jumping on the Walther forum just to, you know, see if maybe someboday had posted a PPK for sale anyway. Then I happened across a guy selling a P5. <Sigh>. It's another one of those guns that I've wanted forever. So after dealing back and forth a bit we settled on a price and now I have a P5 on the way as well.

I have no idea what got into me as usually I'm pretty thoughtful and level headed about buying stuff but just had to spring on both of these. I saw a P5 about a year ago at a gun show for $550 and have been regretting not getting it since I saw it, especially since I've been coveting one for years. Well, not anymore!

Sweet. I love Walthers. I have the PPS 9mm, the PK .380 and the P22. I'll have to look into that .32 and the P5. I'm thinking about getting a P99. :)

My "unicorn" Walther is a full-size P88, but I'd love to have a P5 as well.

I currently own a 9mm P99AS. It is a fantastic piece of engineering, is utterly reliable, and is my go-to pistol.

:D

I currently own a P99, a PPQ, and a PPS, all in 9mm, and I've owned a 9mm P5 and a .40 P99. All were excellent pistols IMO.

I'm currently looking for a .32 PP and a full-size P88.

There are things about each pistol that appeal to me. I feel Walther is an innovative company that puts out some good quality pistols, and I have yet to regret purchasing a Walther.

I love Walthers too, obviously.

The P5 has been my unicorn for a long time. Well that and the German made pre 1945 PPK in .32. I'll take a Manurhin made .32 PPK anytime though!

I'll definitely post some pics of the PP and the P5 once I get it.

The long wanted and waited for P5 finally came in today. I don't even know what to say, I absolutely love it. I ordered a beautiful set of walnut checkered grips with the Walther logo scrolled across the bottom that should be here sometime next week or so, hopefully. Can't wait to get them on too.

I'll definitely get it out and put some rounds through it this weekend.

I really can't believe I finally own one. Just awesome, such a cool pistol.

I'll post some pics once the grips come.

Congrats on the PP and P5. I just put some money down on my eighth Walther, a 9mm PPQ.
I currently have a P88, P88C, 2 P99s, P5, P1 and PPS.

I love my Walther and all the ones I have ever fired. Can never go wrong as long as it has "Eagle over N" on the slide.

Just in case anyone is interested, here are the promised pics of my new Walther P5. The condition of this gun is excellent. Couldn't be happier. My new walnut grips from grips4u are spectacular in my humble opinion. I think this pistol is the pinnacle of "sharp". Yeah, I'm fawning. Forgive me.

Fawn away, Cappy. :) There's just something about a new gun (even if it's a new-to-you old gun) that's right up there with a new car.

I have two Walther P99AS' in 9mm and .40 S&W, as well as a P22 that is just a fun, accurate little range plinker.

I've been considering getting a PPQ as well, but with the P99AS, I just don't see the point.

Hey ExTank,

Thanks for your understanding! :) I totally agree. It's even cooler when it's a "new old" gun that you have wanted for years and years. Mine was made in 1993 so it's almost a 20 year old. Have to say it's my favorite full size, single stack, all metal and wood, 9mm of all time. ;) Took it out to the range last weekend and it shot great, just a total pleasure all around. Such a neat addition to add to my collection and one I'll NEVER get rid of.

I do have to agree with you on the P99. My P99AS is by far and away the best pistol I've ever handled and shot. It's a total shame Walther doesn't get more recognition here. I have a buddy who is a TOTAL Glock fan and he was even taken by the P99. He loved the trigger and thought it blew the Glock's away.

I do like the PPQ as well and was tempted for awhile as well as being tempted by the PPS but seriously, having the P99, you eventually come down to "what's the point?". I'm my opinion there is no finer polymer 9mm on the planet. I LOVE my P99AS.

My real want now is a Manurhin PPK in .32. If I can eventually add that to my collection I think my heart would be complete (til a new obsession comes along, lol!). Honestly, it's the final piece to my puzzle and one I have to eventually add.

Thanks again for the compliments on the P5. She's a fine old girl. Something rare and different that most people aren't even aware of. I still can't believe I really have one!
