heres my M1A right outta the box. the only changes ive made is a GI style leather sling, and a boatload of Checkmate mags. everyone who owns a Mini, needs a Socom. ;)

Nice piece! I used to have a SOCOM and do very much regret selling it. As the guy next to me at the range said, "The blast coming off that thing's got some authority to it."
 
authority indeed. giant flames, major muzzle blast, but the performance downrange has me convinced the .308 performs well out of a shorter barrel.

It does OK. 150 grain loads clock around 2,600 from 16" tubes, about 200 FPS slower than a 22" tube will give.

Nice rifle, though. I debated for some time between the M1A and AR-10. The AR-10 won out for me, in the form of an Armalite AR-10A2C, but I'll probably get an M1A eventually.
