Drakejake, that MAK90 stock looks alot like the Choate offering in that picture. How does it compare ergonomically with a conventional AK stock set?
Does it seem pretty rugged?

My mistake. The MAK-90 is in a Choate stock as you suggest. (My Mini-14 is in a Butler Creek folder.)

There is a disagreement about the Choate versus the ATI. I find the Choate to be of superior quality and the ATI cheap looking. Others state that the ATI is made of much tougher plastic than the Choate and is much more durable. The ATI in a sense sacrifices function to appearance by putting a block of plastic behind the receiver cover and thereby making it impossible to remove the bolt, bolt carrier, etc., for cleaning without taking the rifle out of the stock. But you can saw that piece of plastic off. The Choate has a built in recoil pad which is nice. The ATI butt is hard plastic. I do not have an AK in a conventional stock.
