I have received a golf ball and soda can mortar and a large and small thunder mug. Any ideas for commercial or hand made tools. I've got pipe cleaners. Swabs, rams, worms . . . anything else? Do I need a pick for cleaning?

My first cannon was an old cast iron signal cannon used for sail boat races in the Great Lakes. 75 caliber. It came with an ancient ram rod made from a shift lever from an old "three on the tree" automobile. I used a bronze plumbing coupling attached to a narrow piece of iron pipe as a cleaning jag, After I threaded the two, I spun it with an electric drill and used a file to shape the bronze into a jag.

A four foot length of half inch copper pipe with a funnel taped to the end makes loading powder into the chamber much easier.
A baby bottle brush makes a quick job of cleaning said chamber.

I use to have a coehorn that shot beer cans full of cement a couple of hundred yards, and a 1/3 scale cannon of the type used on Old Ironsides. It fired a 35mm film can full of cement or a 1/2 pound lead wadcutter. The WC would go through a pickup body at a hundred yards.

I made my own implements. Pipe cleaner is important for the flash hole. Bottle brushes, etc.

Great fun.

here's one i built awhile back:
