Well, I wanted a Ruger Mark II (I hate the lawyered up features on the Mark III's), but I couldn't find one like I wanted. I was getting very frustrated after checking all the online auction sites, and classifieds, and then visiting about six different gun shops and pawn shops without any luck.

Then I saw this pistol at the last shop I went to, and it caught my eye.

Yes, I know it is not a Ruger, but I like it anyway. It is a Browning Buck Mark Camper model. I am not sure why I wasn't even considering the Browning before I saw this one. It was like I completely forgot they existed!
I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but I'll update this thread when I do.

Anyone else here have one of these neat .22's? How do you like it?

Is there a Buck Mark Club? If not, maybe we can start one.

Browning Buck Mark owners sound off!

Ah, love at first sight. It is true Kismet. Search this forum and you will find some Buckmark lovers...oh, and pistol info also.

You can't go wrong with the Buckmark. I've got the Browning and my father has a Ruger. They are both great guns that get a LOT of use. The Ruger 'feels' more solid but the Browning has the better trigger.

Enjoy!

I had a Camper, and I liked it pretty well. I sold it because I needed a little money and I didn't shoot it much in favor of my MkII's. That I prefer my MkII's isn't to say that I don't like the Buckmark though. I thought it was a comfy little gun to shoot, I liked it's accuracy, and one day I will probably buy another one. Good choice on your part!

Congratulations. They're very nice pistols. If something suddenly happened to my 22/45 I'd probably replace it with a Buckmark.

You will have a lot of fun with that Buckmark. It's great out of the box and there are many after market items available if you want to change things around. Barrels, scopes, grips.
I just bought a BuckMark NRA. I'm using Federal Champions.
BuckMark club?...I'm in.

My BM......This is not my Photo...

I recently bought a Buckmark Target & have found it to be a nice alternative to the Ruger Mk? that most of my shooting buds have selected. You'll NOT be unhappy with your choice. Go to the RIMRIRE CENTRAL forum & you'll find tips/advice from a bunch of Buckmark shooters. Congrats on your new Browning!

I just got back from the range. I tried 6 different kinds of ammo, and fired a total of 450 rounds. It functioned flawlessly with all the ammo I tried.
I fired:
100 rds. CCI Mini-Mags
50 rds. CCI Standard Velocity
100 rds. Federal Bulk HP's
100 rds. Remington Bulk Golden Bullets
50 rds. Remington Eley Match
50 rds. PMC Scoremaster

Best accuracy seemed to be with the Remington Eley Match, which is no real surprise. Followed by the PMC Scoremaster and CCI Standard Velocity. Then the CCI Mini-Mags with both the Federal and Remington bulk pack ammo tied with the "worst" accuracy. There wasn't really any difference between the two bulk pack ammo brands that I could tell. Even though they produced the "worst" accuracy, they are still fine for plinking, which is the primary reason I bought this pistol, so it will be fed a steady diet of the bulk pack ammo. I had no problem hitting a 6" steel plate consistently with the bulk ammo at 25 yards. With the better ammo I was able to consistently hit a 2" steel spinner target also at 25 yards.

I didn't actually fire any groups on paper except for the initial sight in(I only brought one paper target with me, doh!), so I don't have any targets to post pics of, sorry, maybe next time I'll remember to bring more than one paper target and get some groups.

Nice pistol! I am also a big Buckmark fan.

Here's one of mine

You chose what I think is perhaps the best value in the .22 rimfire plinker market. The value of these little guns is incredible. Mine shoots one ragged hole offhand at 15 yards.

I have the previous model camper, and like it a lot. It is very accurate, and feeds everything I've tried in it so far (mostly bulk stuff).

The only thing I don't care for is the plastic top piece. I replaced mine with a TacSol rail, which is much better. Also, I have to use thread lock to keep the screws on the top rail and the grips from coming loose.

I have a buckmark that my sister bought me for christmas. I told her i wanted a browning buckmark or a ruger MKIII so she bought the buckmark because it had a cooler name:scrutiny: Anyway I love my Buckmark.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
