So...after spending some time in the Navy, I went back to college. I'm finally finished, as of last Friday. With all this free time on my hands, I decided to start shooting high power, and as a graduation gift to myself I bought an AR to get started, and thought that I'd show it off...

It's a White Oak Armament upper on a Rock River NM lower. I called White Oak to order it, and they said 3-5 weeks. A week and a half later, they called me to tell me that it was shipping! The upper actually arrived 3 days before the lower, which was "in stock" when I ordered it. Those guys are on the ball.

After languishing in the safe for 3 weeks, I finally got the chance to shoot it today, and man is it sweet. I have a good bit of shooting in front of me, and I am certain that this rifle will carry me as far as I can go.

Oh yeah, when they sent it, it had the spiffy t-shirt in the box as a bonus, and a congratulatory note about my graduation, too. The fellas at White Oak are top-notch in my book.

I'll be on the line as soon as I can! I'm actually going to be out of town for the very next one, but the month after that I'll be shooting the local reduced-course match.:)

Reduced targets are fun as well. Each month there is a reduced target match I go to which the 4-H kids (read their parents) BBQ burgers and dogs as a fund raiser. We do the match in 2 relays so if there is someone needing to borrow equipment there is no problem. I normaly call the first relay and shoot the second. It's a real hoot and it's fun seeing guys score improve. What is really fun is watching and helping them the first couple of times on a full distance X the course range.

For the reduced course, I shoot 69 gr. SMk's with load data posted by John at his WOP web site. I worked the loads up carefully and ended up finding R-15 is the powder. Burns clean and shoots well.

Also check out a new web site for High Power at www.highpowerforums.com

Bunch of good guys and everyone is welcome. Might take awhile to get an answer as the group is still some what small but always good info you can bank on.
