Folks, here's some pics of my new full house custom built M1911. It was built to my specs by Bob Rodgers, a master gunsmith in the circles of those who know. (Mine's the 1st one in Gallery 3, I've replaced the Buckeye burl grips with mammoth ivory since then). www.rodgerspistolsmithing.com
This started life as a bone-stock SA GI-45, all that remains of the original gun is the frame & slide, every other part has been replaced with hardened steel & carefully fitted together w/all the sharp edges softened plus Kart match barrel w/ recessed & crowned muzzle. I've put exactly 980 rounds of ball, corbon, gold dots, golden sabers and hydrashock thru it without any hitches.
I already have a steel Colt Commander waiting for the same treatment, but there's a 4-year wait for it to come back to me.
