Found this Girsan MC 39 (Regard variant) online for around $350, out the door at my LGS for just shy of $400. It is 99% compatible parts wise with the Beretta 92, the locking block is different. Smooth, no rattle, SA/DA, frame mounted ambi - safety, little bit of takeup in SA but has a very long reset. Very well put together. I was worried about the grip thickness but even though it's thick it just fits comfortably, at least in my huge hands.

The Girsan is on my short list of guns left to buy, probably the version with the red dot factory mounted on it.

Nice pick up. I have XXL hands, and my two Beretta 92 variants fit them very well. Good shooters. I've been shooting one of them since 1990. Enjoy! :)

I've a Turk 1911 and a HiPo; both are nicely done. Good luck with the 92 clone; expect great things.

Hope it's everything you were looking for op.

After hearing so many wonderful things about Turkish 1911's, I broke my own rule on not buying turkish guns, and picked up a 9mm Tisas 1911.
It's a jam-o-matic and I should've kept to my rule.

I'd rather buy a used original for $50 to $100 more than a Turkish copy.

My Tisas GI clone is solid, but it is a .45 ACP model.

Have been very impressed with my Girsan Regard MC. Forged, full length metal guide rod, it is a high quality example of the model.... that can be had for less than $400 lol

The Turks have filled my gun safes between Girsan, Tisas, Canik, Akus and Huglu. They are an amazing value; materials, construction, and finish. I buy the Tisas 1911's for 1911 projects. You cannot buy quality forged components with the $300 Tisas charges for a complete 1911.

Enjoy your new 92!

Cool! All I have read about the Turkish Girsan/Tisas/Sarsilmaz (sp?) pistols has been they are a very good gun at a great price. Here in Ca we cant get any of these new guns (yet?!?) but seems like the handguns these guys are making are worth the cost, and then some. Let us know how it shoots when you get a chance.

(Even the original manufacturers aren’t infallible and will have lemons get shipped out of the factory. I just dropped $700 on a Beretta M9 that had a trigger bar spring issue end my inaugural shooting session with it at just 42 shots.)

Stay safe.

I purchased a Tisas Hi-Power a couple of years ago to keep some of the wear and tear off of my actual Hi-Power. Wow, the Tisas shoots as well if not slightly better than the actual Hi-Power. I think it was around $350.
