:D Alright guys this is my first post and its one full of excitement . Last Friday I went to the Gun Show at the Expo center here in Portland and bought myself a Glock 19, an extra magazine (total 3), Fobus paddle roto holster and dual magazine pouch. I got to shoot it yesterday up at Memloose with my girlfriend and a co-worker of mine.

I have to say that it is the BEST weapon I have ever fired. I have fired a few pistols in the past including a Ruger .38 Special that my dad has, an older .22 Pistol of some kind I can't remeber, my Lorcin .380 :barf:, and my co-workers new Ruger P95 DC.

It was very accurate as I was hitting clay pidgeons at between 30-50 yards. I did like the Ruger P95 but the trigger pull was rediculously long and it was a little heavier. I had ABSOLUTELY no problems with it, I put 250 rounds through it with ZERO jams, it performed flawlessly.

I am glad to have found a group of people dedicated to firearms and the fun that they can bring (WHEN USED PROPERLY). I am definitely NOT saying that this is the best pistol out there but it is the best that I have fired.

You guys can "flame" if you must thats fine. But if any of you guys from the Portland area ever wanna head up to Memloose on Wednesdays or Thursdays let me know I am always ready to blow some stuff up.

Happy Shooting,
Josh

Glad to hear Josh!!! And great choice too. Now it's time to take some pictures of your Glock...like me: :D

Glock model 35, OD Green, 3.5lb. connector, NY1 spring and Trijicon night sights.

Welcome to THR.

Congrats on your new purchase! With my little experience with the 19 its a very nice shooter and quite reliable. You definitely need to take pics though (yes i know all glocks pretty much look the same, but i still like looking at pictures of guns) and welcome to the boards.

Glock, how was the show at the expo? been ages since I have been to one there and was just wondering.

Congratulations and welcome to THR and the Glock Club.

I have a Glock 19 and 26 and love them both.

VERY NICE!

Now I want you to do 3 things for me please:

-Replace the Fobus holster with a Blade Tech or Comptac
-Put night sites on the gun
-Attend a shooting school.

I'm glad you like it.

Nomad I had planned to do the bottom two already. And I am gonna check those two holsters out, I like the Fobus it's nice. Maybe when I get tired of it or just want to waste some more money :) I will get another one.

And Buttrap the show was pretty good. There was a lot of guns there. I didn't really walk around too much and check out the other stuff I went for one thing, and one thing only. And that is what I left with :).

I consider the mdl 19 to be about the perfect size for a 9mm CCW. I traded mine off for some reason that fails me now. Still have three other Glocks, a 17/22/36 models. If I run across another used 19 at a good price, I own another one! Welcome and congrats!!!

Glock 19

You wont be disappointed with it. At least I am not for past 14 years! Never a single problem, over three thousands rounds fired.

The only suggestion I can give you is to change the paddle holster from FOBUS to GALCO (www.usgalco.com). There are more durable, and at par with the standard of your gun.

Night sights, is also an excellanet suggestion as made by some one here.

Attend school, if you want to. But if I were you I would go to open range and shoot the flames out of my gun until I fully understand the shooting of it.

congrats Josh - my wife and I just picked up a couple of new pistols at a gunshow as well - I got the M&P in .40 and my wife the G19 - both are great to shoot and we've enjoyed breaking them in.

And I'm new here too so hi everybody!

And welcome to you sir. Yeah I put 250 rounds through it the first day and pretty much figured it out. There was only magazine that I fired as fast as possible (that was fun). I think it will be kept FOREVER.

I am actually thinking of going into law enforcement anyways. So I think I might be able to use it as my regular carry weapon. If not I will probably pick up a 17c for a larger frame. We'll see what happens.

Congrats Josh,

I just bought one a few weeks ago also. I'm going to carry it as my CCW pistol of choice. Its a great 9mm.
