Weatherby Vanguard 22-250 I bought cheap ($400) that was new.I put in aTimney trigger ,set it at 2 pounds, used a Score High pillar bed system after I opened barrel channel and final skim coated the bedding points. CTK mono pod and S type Harris bench bipod and a Turner biothane sling. I sighted it in for Winchester 55 grain soft points because I have several hundred rounds of it.I am planning loading Barnes 53 grain triple shocks for California. The scope is a Bushnell 5-15 Tactical Elite which I got for half price ($350) when they discontinued the model. It is a brilliant scope close to night force optically.I chose DeadNutz Gamereaper mount because that system has never failed me and is light .
I took it to the range today and after a 50 yard, fire one and clean routine , sighted it in at 200 yards and got 3/4" groups (all 3 shot grouups under an inch with the best two 3/4", perfect conditions 3685 FPS with a strap on chrono ), not bad with Factory ammo . I will be carrying this rifle in my TruckVault, to see what needs shooting in rural Oregon, maybe local Calif Blacktail which I had great success with a .224 Weatherby for decades before I sold it.
