My new tactical revolver

Well I now know that my TRR8 is better and more "tactical" than the Trijicon Reflex sight I had mounted on it. That POS broke while I was shooting 158gr Rem 357s today.

Here I was thinking that these turds were made for the high speed low drag crowd. It looks like they make em for posers to jazz up their ARs (and I got suckered into it:eek: ).

DOH! Now I need to get one & add it to the pile of guns I'm getting from work. Ya know, I started a second job at a gun shop for extra cash, but so far I've spent 5x as much money in 1 year than I made there. Jeez...

Those really are nice pieces, I must say. I like the fact the S&W went with a brass bead front site versus the ubiquitous Tritium inserts that wear out after a while.

I wouldn't think mounting a vert foregrip on a revolver would be too much of a problem for the legislators--for the fact that you'll be burning your own hand if you fire it like that :what:

i have a 627pc i'm really fond of, but it really really lacks the cool looks of the TRR8. bet the TRR8 is alot easier on the hip too.

327 TRR8

If anyone is wondeing how this fine piece of art functions, wonder no more. Just got back from the range and put 150 rounds through my new TRR8. I can only say one thing - PERFECT!! The balance is fantastic! Trigger pull sweet! Muzzel rise.....hell, what rise. ..I feel like I just came back from revolver HEAVEN... need I say more.....YOU GOT TO GET ONE.....this baby is gonna cuddle in your hand like a warm sweetheart on a cold winter night.........OH, and I had plenty of ONE HOLE through the other shots...no adjustments.....oh baby, shes a smoooooooothhhh shooter....LOVE HER, got to find her a real nice name, think I have a new sweetheart.....

I am ashamed to admit that I sorta, kinda, in a train wreck sort of way, really like that ugly sucker. :D

What can I say I like me some three fitty sevens.

Not that i've shot one to know how this would actually work, but if there is any muzzle rise percepticle to the shooter, would it be possible to mount a weight under the barrel so that you could fire full-house .357s with no rise, for example?

That would negate the lightweight advantage but I don't see why it can't be a worthwhile experiment. I'm sure someone in AR15.com sells Picatinny equipped weights:scrutiny:

A gun mag just did an article on that Smith, worked well for them, too.
i guess if a person is mandated to a revolver or just prefers such for duty use, that S&W would look mighty attractive at any price!

Eightball,

I used to own a Taurus 66 6" full underlug, and the heavy barrel did keep muzzle rise down, but the gun was slow to get back on target.

The best bet for controlling muzzle rise/flip is to grip the gun as high on the frame as possible, without getting hammer bite. Try it, you'll be surprised how much muzzle flip is cut down with 357s (38s have barely any rise at all).

You can see what I mean in my picture below. The Pachmayr grips I currently use don't allow me to grip as high as I'd prefer, but some Ahrends round-to-square conversions are in the future to cure that little problem.

To the original poster:
If Jack Bauer use a revo, that'd be it! Sweet looking weapon!

When does the Taurus version come out? My poor butt can't afford the S&W. :D

If only they would leave that lock off of it, I would be all over it.
I gotta say, what difference does it make? The keys for the stupid thing are in the case that came with it. I don't lock it and have no plans to ever do it. It doesn't hurt performance, accuracy, or reliability. God knows it's as accurate as hell. What's the big hairy deal about the DREADED LOCK that everyone seems to be in a tizzy about? Had to get that off of my chest. No offense.

Nice peice. With a light attached, I think it might be the ultimate home defense gun. If you don't mind, what are they going for? $1200?

I got mine for $999.00, but as the shop I got it at is a little expensive, you can prob. get it for 950 or so.

You guys are funny!

That's not a lock key-hole on the left side near the cylinder latch...it's a USB port. I can upload ballistic data directly into the gun's hard drive. At least that's what I tell myself because I couldn't care less if my Smiths have the hole or not. All the hole does is make old men feel old because they can remember the time when there were no locks. They can probably also remember the time when you didn't have to fill out a 4473 to buy a gun. Too bad criminals can't buy guns anymore, huh? Oh, I found this little beauty NIB on Gunbroker for $850. I love my life.
