Thanks for the update! Looks like you have a nice utility/general purpose type gun with your Taurus G3. All in all a decent buy for the money.

A Pardini its not, that's for sure.
Yes, it's not a Pardini :D.
For the moment it is the least accurate pistol of my little collection. Let's say I expected it. But I think I can improve because in the end it is only my third range trip in the last 10 months and only two of them with the G3. In any case, the price must always be taken into account and at this moment it is the cheapest 9mm pistol on the Italian market.

Thanks bannockburn. Yes, it's a good overall, all around gun for the money. I probably have to work a little more with it, finding the ammo it preferes, controlling my trigger finger better, etc. It has potential. I have no esitation to recommend it.

And how much is a Pardini? Yeah. The G3 is more within my budget.
MSRP price for a Pardini like mine is $2950 in the USA. I don't know how a possibile street price could be.
In Italy MSRP is €2500 with a street price in the €1900/2000 range.
I bought mine used, in like new conditions, if I remember well for €1000 including shipping at my LGS. However mine is not the latest version, it's what we could call a "Gen 2" Pardini GT, even if changes are neglegible during the years. This pistol model is been virtually the same since its release.

Grandsons Taurus G3C failed today. Magazine button & spring fell out. Dropped the magazine. Put in service 1/19/21. Was shot very little. About 150 rounds total.

It's an issue that happens sometimes with Taurus PT111/G2c/G3c/G3.
There are some videos on youtube that shows the very same issue. It is probably caused by the wrong length of the spring or the wrong heat treatment of the spring.
A factory replacement should solve the problem.
My Taurus G3 doesn't show that problem.

A closer look this morning shows an oval blind hole that the magazine spring sits in. Its oval towards the right side. This allow the spring to slip out of the notch. Just like a short spring would act. 20211227_081527.jpg The loaded magazine can hit the magazine release when being inserted.

Putting the release back in from the right side & popping the spring back in place, doesn't last. Just like on YouTube.
Ordered parts, but can't fix a poor design.

The GX4 has a different magazine release spring.

While you are waiting for the spare parts you could try to reverse the spring upside down to see if the situation improves.

Design is fine thats a parts spec issue. Lots of guns use that same design and its fine. If the new parts dont resolve it I would find a thicker (if possible) and longer spring and cut it to fit. Its just a mag catch.

Shouldnt be happening though so I get the frustration. The days of hand fitted parts by skilled craftsmen are long gone though. Its just part of the deal.
