Yesterday I made a trade for my first "shooter" 1911. I have a couple of consecutive serial numbered Kimbers that are safe queens, but I have never had a shooter 1911.

All I can say is wow! I love it! I am a hardcore Glock fan and always will be. With that said, I know I have been missing out on the 1911 for a long time!

It has some micarta grips, Novacks sights, and has been duracoated and had some work done my Shumaker Gun Works in Stephenville Texas. There is a little wear on one part of the duracoat, but its a working mans carry gun, so I think of it as added character and it doesnt bother me a bit. I ran about 100 rounds through it today it was just awesome!

Enough rambling....here are a couple pics.

aguyindallas,

That is a very handsome firearm you have there and one you can be proud of carrying and shooting.

I started my 1911 affection with a WW2 GI Champion. A plain jane, no frills gun that would literally shot a hole in a hole at 15yards. I wanted something I could cosmetically dress up and carry. I did so and carried it for a couple of years until I sold it to my best friend, whe still carries it today. Here it is.

Next I traded for a pre-loaded versuin with a barrel bushing and in stainless. I also did some cosmetic adjustments to that one and then traded it for another gun. Here it is.

Lastly I bought the Wilson Combat version of the Champion....the Professional. I will not be making any adjustments whatsoever to this one. It has all the things I want and is my Primary CCW. Here it is.
