My new Webley.

Just picked up this pistol today, and fulfilled one of my childhood dreams haha. It's a Webley Mk.VI revolver, made in 1918, and incredibly still chambered in the original .455 Webley (Eley). It's missing quite a bit of its finish, but I bought it because the cylinder wasn't shaved and it's in perfect mechanical condition with a fantastic bore, so I'm not concerning myself with it. I also just picked up two boxes of Hornady .455 Mk.II cartridges, and hopefully sometime soon I'll get to a range and see how it shoots.

Those stubby .455 cartridges are beyond cool! I would seriously love to own one of those revolvers, even one cut for .45 auto would be sweet to have.

perty. had one in 45 acp.... sold it , miss it. have a nagant still and just got some actual (hot) military grade ammo for it... but still wish I had to buy some .455.

I have had a few and the one you have are very nice pieces of history. All I have right now is the one in 38 with the isreal markings on it. its looks new and a import stamp.

I have the same revolver and using a small lathe produce my own cases out of 45 long colt cases by maching down the rim thickness, shortening the case. they work pretty good. be safe enjoy your webley.

I have a Colt's New Service in .455 Eley, along with not quite 2 full boxes of original Dominion ammo. It's a great gun, and an awesome cartridge if you reload. Get Starline cases, and go from there. I'm mostly using .454" 255 gr swc's at around 775 fps. Try .45 Auto Rim data and Unique powder for a good place to start.

"Try .45 auto rim data..." I could be wrong but I belive .45AR is a larger (by volume) case. I'm not sure it would be wise to do that. You could load over pressure rounds by doing that, a little google fu and you can find the right data.

If I'm wrong about different case volume you'll be fine, but I'd check first.
