I got my M&P .40 kit today and I am very impressed! Kit came with everything pictured for $513 + tax! Bladetech holster, three 14rd mags, mag pouch and case custom fit for it all! I'm taking it to the range tomorrow but I'm going to start carrying it today.

I HATE GLOCKS/Polymer bodies..... BUT...

Congrats! I was JUST going to post a new thread about the M&P .40..... I just shot it for the first time last night after shooting numerous other polymer bodied handguns and this one takes the cake! Nice grip and for the first time I really liked the double action trigger.. LOVED IT.

After a few more tries at other bodies I would consider putting this next to my 1911.

Seriously, great gun! I'm jealous!

Congratulations! That`s a LOT of gun for the money. I just posted a report on my .40 full sized. The more I handle it and dry fire it (with snap cap) the more I like it. I can`t wait to shoot it again and probably will again this weekend even thought we just had a huge winter storm and it`s going to be 20*. I`m really tempted to pick up a compact and a .45 M&P now. If you are in the market to have your M&P customized, I had mine done at OnTarget. Jess media blasted the slide, stippled the front and back strap and did a trigger job. Here are the results. :D

What's the trigger job like? I'm not interested so much in lightening it, as just making it feel less like a squirt gun...

The trigger job really smooths out the pull. The M&P trigger gets better with use, but I think the trigger job improves the trigger that much more. Nothing is really done to the trigger reset oor length of pull, just smoothed out considerably.

STRONG!!!...M&P40

:D Hey Gents, I'm new to this forum stuff, alot of damn good info being passed around here. I'm a armor for a Fed agency and I'll say the the M&P is the first poly gun that has impressed me. The internal frame (steel) is outstanding and it can (with care) be swaged to tighten up the action with out doing damage to the frame. I'm a 45 caliber fan, so I guess you know what my next firearm will be. It just it the market.:D

- Insure that the pistol is unloaded.
- Remove the magazine.
- Lock the slide back.
- Rotate the disassembly latch down.
- Reach in through the chamber with a small screwdriver, disassembly tool, fingernail, or whatever and pry down the sear release lever (it's yellow.)
- Pull the slide back and let it slide forward off the frame.
- Remove the captive recoil spring assembly and barrel.

That's it.

- Chris

Congrats! Those M&P's are building some momentum in the market gaining alot of fans pretty quickly - much like XD has done/ is doing.

I am considering a compact after just holding it in the store. It beats the crap out of a G26 or XD sub compact 9 for my hands. I do not know so much about its reliability but it cant be too bad with that name on the side. Good job! I had no idea they came with so much. Is the .40 frame larger than the 9mm?

M&P IN 45

:D I placing my order for the 45cal as soon as I get off of work, hope they have them in stock. I love chassie and how much steel that the slide actuallly rides on as compared to the other polys'. Hey, nwilliams got a sweet deal.
