So I'm ready to buy my next pistol, but can't decide between a 5.5" Buckmark and an 5" XD45. Trouble is (you'll love this), I've owned both of these guns and sold them both; I know, I know. Now, when I buy, I keep, so while I may end up eventually getting both again, I can't seem to decide which I want more now. I have a ton of .45ACP brass, a brick of LP primers, and plenty of bullets, and several powders, so those give the XD an edge. On the other hand, the Buckmark is just so much fun to shoot (especially with a reflex sight), and .22LR ammo seem plentiful now. Both would be range guns. They are approx. the same cost for me, and I've been on the fence for a while now. Any thoughts? TIA.

Would sort of depend what you have now. If you have .22 autos for the range already, I'd skip the buckmark. But I'm not really a .22 guy. If you have a .45 already for carry, a range gun wouldn't be redundant.

To be honest, those guns are too different for anyone other than you to advocate for what you should do. I was talking to a guy who owns seven AR-15's, and I don't own one. He can't get enough of them, and I can't be bothered with them. Get my drift? Hope that makes sense.

Yeah, I hear ya. These two guns couldn't be more unalike, yet both have their appeal. It's probably just a case of being leery of picking the "wrong" one and ending up with buyer's remorse. The more I think about it, if I didn't have all the reloading components and dies for the caliber, I wouldn't even be considering another .45ACP. I do miss that Buckmark, though. OK, then, problem solved. I knew I'd get the right answer here :p
