So when I was in the 4th grade, my dad bought my first "real" gun for me. It is a Winchester model 37a "youth" model. Welps, it had been broken down to pieces and in storage for about the last 20 yrs. Many of which were in the humid climates of Ohio, Florida, etc.
Needless to say, it is refinishing time. We have suffered some very minor rusting on the metal parts, and smallish scratches and rubbing on the wood.
I am looking at going with Duracoat on all metal surfaces and not sure yet with the wood. Might just get it all sanded down and clean and clearcoat it, possibly with Duracoats clear unless you have some better suggestions here.
Anyhow, sort of new to the THR forums so I figured I would drop this little shotgun note down and keep you posted on the progress. Of course, my 12yr old son will be helping me with this project as it is his gun now. I just hope I can get him out there as much as my dad did and we can continue the fun.
