Nickel plated Timney trigger installed - 2 pound pull.

Score Hi pillar and bedding kit installed.

Blackhawk Bipod installed.

4x12x40 Redfeild Revolution already boresighted and now that I have the 8x40x3/8 screws I'll do the final mount tonight.

Ran Bore Foam through the barrel three times last night - getting old copper fouling out -amazing stuff!

I'm taking her to the range first thing tomorrow morning to zero at 200 yards and whatever happens after that...well who knows?

Did you or the previous owner change the stock? I don't remember Remington 700s coming with that fleur-de-lis style checkering pattern as late as 1989. It looks like an earlier pattern stock. Did you check the date code? 1989 would be a "J". Good luck with your 700 project... I've been a 700 fan myself for as long as I can remember...

Well, now you have me taking a second look and the fact is that the RECEIVER has serial number C6988974. The Barrel has REP stamped on one side and KJ39 stamped on the other side. No other numbers on the barrel, except the barrel does havethe warning stamped on it. The bolt has hand engraved 8374.

Anyways, now I think I need a better spotting scope - my target at 200 yards yesterday was reactive, but I had trouble seeing the yellow outlines of the bullet holes. After I walked up to the target I realized I had a consistent 2" group. I still have one and half bricks of federel gold medal match, but I can see where I need to start reloading my own soon. Trigger felt great at 2 pounds , but I think I'll try adjusting the Timney down to 1.5 pound. Getting better at my breath control and things are starting to fall into place, but I need to tweak the bolt release - it was stuck open. (Turns out later that the release plate needed a little more clearance inside the stock. A small sanding drum on a Dremel took care of it in minutes)

Thanks everyone reading my post - you are a great help!
