Roland built this M1 for me to be able to shoot in the "John C. Garand"matches.
Everything is essentially "as issued"condition.
But..the barrel is a douglas premium barrel which it duplicates the profle of original issued barrel...and he worked the trigger down to 4.5 pound pull which is legal within the rules of the match.
He machines his own stocks and handguards from blanks and the stock he put on my M1 is the same as the "GI" issued stock.
I wanted the my M1 set up just as "GI"issued.Nothing fancy.
Well......I wish I could shot it as good as the 1903
My reloads..at 50yd in the inch range some groups alittle less a time.
Grouping at 100yds will average in the 2 inch range.
Never really got to serious with load development yet. With better load development and a better shot than I,I am sure it will do better.
Roland lives right down the road from me, and I have a rack full of Garands and Springfields, and if you keep this up, they'll all be in his shop -- and I'll be broke!
