I was just checking out my .44 magnum 629 mountain gun getting it ready my sidearms on a black bear hunting trip this weekend. I opened the cylinder and confirmed it was unloaded. closed the cylinder and pulled the hammer back. Then I let the hammer down slowly after pulling the tigger. I noticed the trigger did not go back to its original position. I tried just pulling the trigger and nothing happened.
So my two month old 629 just turned itself into a single action. The trigger is stuck on mostly pulled and I can't open the cylinder. I can pull the hammer back and pull the trigger and it works but the trigger never returns to full forward.
Now normally I would take the thing apart and see what I can do about it but since it is almost new I didn't know if that voids any kind of warranty. My question is should I just talk to S&W directly or should I go back to the store I bought it at and see if the will deal with S&W. This is only the second tiem I have ever had a firearms break on me. I have no experience with something like this. Any suggestions?:banghead:
