This is my second 1907 FN type 9mm Browning Long Swedish pistol I have had since the first in the 70s. These guns were imported with a .380 length sleeve pressed into the chamber and the recoil spring cut down a bit. Other than with European FMJ ammo they were jamamatics from most reports and indeed my first one struggled to get thru a whole magazine with out a mis feed. Never the less I LOVE the Colt 1908 Longslide look and feel of these , and the Swedish made ones are great steel and internally finished, the earlier FN produced ones even better exterior finish.
This one I got about 10 years ago and although stamped ".380" has no importer marking and it came with the .380 barrel and recoil spring BUT was fitted with a original 9mm Long barrel and it's original spring. Basically it looks like a new gun parkerized late production one . About 6 or so years ago 9mm Browning Long began to be imported by PPU ammo very reasonably and I bought 300 of them (6 boxes) and had already some military Swedish berdan primed ammo which shot well , ZERO JAMS ! Yes these things just don't seem to jam in the original chambering, which should be no surprise. The are very accurate with the good trigger and sights hit right on at 25 meters .
I switched the .380 barrel back in and got the same mediocre results and the flat nose Winchester ammo were very dismal feeders. I tried loading up some 9mm Long ammo and when doing so chronographed the 108 grain factory ammo at 1050 FPS ave., which is not bad .
I am gonna have to take new pictures, the ones I have stored on Photobucket are being hijacked by Microsoft and won't allow me to copy it or select it. I'll get around it later . Here is a stock photo:
