My trip to NYC

Well today I went to New York City. I thought it would be a great place to buy several accessories just to spite Emperor Bloomberg. So I read up on several gun stores that were in the area all excited to purchase some CX4 accessories. Upon walking into the first Beretta store I thought something was odd. The store was full of clothing and ornate glasses. Initially I thought I had walked into the wrong store but it turns out the "gun room" as the retailor called it was hidden on the second floor. The "gun room" was a sad collection of magazines and shotguns that you could not pay me to go hunting with.

Upon asking if there were any sort of slings the response was "we cant have those they're highly illegal" which to me sounded odd since slings can be improvised easily enough and never aided in violence. Well the look in the guys face was so sad when I asked if they had any other CX4 accessories he sad in a low vioce "the cx4 is illegal in New York City" what was even more worrying was his explanation "it looks to much like an assault weapon". The guy seemed so down that NYC's gun legislation basicaly turned his gun store into a souvineir shop. So I bought one pistol magazine for my CX4.

Well I thought maybe some stores might be different. Well it was the same sad tale gun stores turned into nothing more than souvenier shops. The worst was the guy telling me "we dont have a tactical flashlight you have to specail order those" so what its some big secret you want to put a flashlight on your rifle? I strongly urge any resident of New York to try and do something about this blatant violation of your rights. Stop allowing yourselves to be subjects of Bloomberg! Today really made me apreciate my home state CT and realize what happens when us gun owners dont take a politicaly active role in government.

I think there's only one gunshop left on Staten Island.

NYC is a good place to find deals on cameras and diamonds, find any kind of restaurant you want, or find some of the best museums in the world but you're probably better off looking for accessories on the internet.

There was or is a place aclled "Iron Works" on the Bowery near Chinatown that catered to NYPD. Don't know if it's still there.

After a long google search I found only four stores in the entire city. I am sure there are many more thier just not liscensed FFL's .

we need to win big in SCOTUS to force NYC to rejoin America.
BTW....I am a native newyawka....Rudy would be worse for us the Hillary, don't vote for him no matter what!

We need a great SCOTUS decision to force those skells to let us visit, even if we ccw and have an AR in the car.

NY/NJ is so bad it makes CA look like a bastion of common sense.

Was talking to another hunter (from NYC), when hunting in upstate N.Y.
He was telling me that he had to hire a LAWYER to get a handgun permit!?!?
Asked me what the red tape was like in Texas. I said: You show your drivers’ license, be a resident of Texas, within 15 minutes (including filling out the form and background check), if you get a yes. You have your handgun(s) purchased, right then and there. He said, no permit, no purchase authorization(s), no registering? I said, no.
He didn’t believe me, I don’t think? Well, I did say, you have to have the cash, or credit card, or check, or money order, to finalize the purchase.
Seems too easy?

The Beretta Gallery in Dallas is like 80% clothes and dinnerware as well. You know Beretta makes other stuff besides guns, right? They're basically like Abercrombie and Fitch was 80 some years ago.

That ironworks place has also been reduced to a souvenier shop with some NYPD t-shirts and almost no guns and absolutely no tactical accessories. I found a great web site based in nevada where i can get just about anything i need for accessories.

Sounds like parts of New Jersey - between Essex and Ocean counties. A good number of the 'gun stores' I grew up around were actually jewelery stores with a similar 'gun room' setup in the back or in a basement. They wouldn't even entertain you unless you had a FID. Then, by time I was of age to legally purchase, guns were being sold in Sports Authority, but they stopped shortly after. I think the last 'gun store' I remember was a sporting goods shop on Rt. 35 in Ocean Township - Bobs Sporting Goods or something like that. They, at least, would allow you to peruse and carried some decent supplies. IIRC, they're gone now.

NYC is supposed to be a great city. If they had CCW laws that were shall issue and better gun laws I would consider moving there. I am a city kid and I love the urban life but I hate crappy gun laws.

NYC is a waste. Everything is illegal. The constitution does not exist. There is no such thing as liberty or freedom. NY in general is one of the five states that have succeeded from the Union. And their past mayor can **** my **** if he thinks for one second I would vote for him. Isnt Hillary representing.... HAHA Whatever. I will never live there or pay taxes to that hole.

Whenever I go to NYC, the minute the train or plane door opens, I do a tactical roll through it.

It's important, as it disrupts the OODA loops of any potential threats on the other side. "Slicing the Pie" all the way to the hotel gets tiresome, I have to admit…

see there was your first mistake. I live in NYC and I don't think I've bought more than a bottle of Hoppes here. It's not that I don't want to support the local merchants but handing over my permit to buy bullets is just too much for me. It seems at times that the owners are more anti than the antis.

For the life of me I don't know how you all live in places like that. I guess if you do not know different it does not matter.

True enough, but having lived there I can tell you some laws were never enforced and the cops were really cool.

Yeah going to NY had that effect on me too. I dont complain about CT's gun laws which require me to fill out many useless forms every single time I purchase. Compared to NY its a blessing heck we dont even have magazine capacity restrictions on our guns I could hook up a 100 round beta mag to an AR-15 if i felt like it. Something magical must happen when you cross the little state line lol.

The only time I like to look at NYC is in the rear miror!!

You pay $8 to drive over a bridge and the ramps have a pot hole the size of RI!
Since then I fly with a Cessna to Newark and take the taxi to NYC if I really have to get there!
