No need to explain what happened in Glasgow, everyone knows, I know I was there with my family when it all went down.

I didn't see the actual attack but I saw the smoke as we were driving to the airport and needless to say we did not make our flight. The whole event added several days to my vacation but not for a good reason. Ten minutes earlier and its more than likely we would have been right there in the terminal when they car hit and I thank my lucky stars we were not.

We finally got back yesterday and its good to be home it was a crappy way end a great vacation and it feels good to strap on my ccw again and feel a bit more protected. Being so close to a terrorist attack, even a blundered one, makes me remember why I carry. All I can say is thank god nobody was hurt, especially my family but even so it was too close for comfort. If I'm ever this close to a terrorist attack again I only hope I have some means of protection. You feel pretty helpless when your that close and all your guns are several thousand miles away and the most dangerous object you're carrying is a pen.

Anyway I just thought I'd share.

Im glad your back ok, what a story!
I guess terrorism isnt just something that happens "over there"...welcome home.
p.s.-barring this mess, how was Scotland? Ive always wanted to go.

As an aside, I get the actual BBC news and one interview that wasn't shown here in the US was with a Scot at the airport when it happened.

Probably not shown here for reasons on needing subtitles for his accent or polictical correctness......

Reporter,

"Can you tell me in youir own words what happened after you saw the flames and the men?'

Scotsman (translated for the Americans....)

"Well, me an a couple of the lads ran over to see if we could help until we realised he was a bloody terrorist, the we gave the bast**d a sound kicking the bast**d....."

Reporter

" (silence for about 10 seconds) You mean you didn't try and help him"

Scotsman

"We were.....he wanted to die in flames, we were trying to help him...fair does."
