Check out my first ever gun photo guys/gals. I hope it looks ok. I had to do it for a article we are doing at work. I am a graphic designer for several gun magazines and well we were doing an article on some things and needed a shot of a SIGP220. A co-worker owned one, I had my camera equipment, we had so old alice packs and old camo laying around, as well as some old ammo etc...

So, I set up the shot, did the lighting and all and voila I came up with what you see here. Straight out of the camera. The only thing I did was downsize it for the web and place my logo on it. What do you guys think?

Sorry about the clickable link guys. For some reason it would not let me embed the image.

There we go...

Yeah, I guess you guys are right. I thought it lacked something and I seen that Mauser ammo on a stripper clip laying in the corner and thought it would be cool just to throw it in. I guess I better re-shoot tomorrow without the ammo. You guys are right. it sends mixed messages especially considering the articles is about pistols. Geez such a long day I did not even think about that.

Stalker - it is a nice, clean photo. I'm wondering though if a little more light or a little tweak in PS to increase the brightness would not have helped. The shadows along the right center and along the entire bottom, esp. the left corner, seem to be a little too dark.
Just my $0.02.

Thanks for the feedback guys. More to come one day. I rarely get time to post anymore I am so busy...

Thanks JT. I will try again tomorrow keeping your suggestions in mind. Like I said I am working with primitive lighting here. The camera does have an onboard flash but I was trying to avoid using that.
