Very cool!

Every time the subject of really tiny handguns comes up, I start to think that maybe the traditional pistol form factor of grip and trigger isn't the best for something so small. I'm thinking of something that you hold in your fist with the barrel protruding between your middle and ring fingers. The trigger mechanism could be a button that you press with your thumb. Alternatively, it could be fired by some kind of squeeze mechanism, although that might lend itself too much to unintended discharges.

Just thinking out loud here -- probably something that no one needs. But anyway, very cool little gun!
I think it would be an NFA weapon as it would be concealable and would not be easily recognizable as fitting the basic fit and form of a traditional firearm. Kinda like a stinger inkpen.

Still think you should be a YouTuber even have a patron account. I follow a young lady on YouTube who reproduced several firearms from scratch. She hasn't posted in months now however.

A lot goes into producing a decent video; I've looked into making videos before and doing it well requires resources I don't have and can't afford... and I wouldn't want to do bad videos. I do have a Patreon account linked to my blog, but it doesn't bring in much as yet.

I’ve watched some god awful vids on you tube and some really well produced ones. I’m convinced one could shoot a really well made vid with just a cell phone. The editing however would be well beyond me.

I realize there would be more recoil, but do you think the design and that gun would hold up to a .22LR?

Very cool design and execution. Seems like it would disappear in a clenched fist. Glad I never ran across anyone with something that small when I was working.

???:confused: It's basically the Colt Thuer model derringer, with a different locking method. It is slightly smaller, but definitely fits 'the basic fit and form' of a traditional firearm;

MTP,

This is my opinion and I wouldn't blame you for disregarding it outright. But may I suggest a change in your paradigm. J.Lo (pick your modern day internet influencer and insert name here) doesn't produce their own YouTube videos and neither should you. You both have a talents that don't include producing a video. But there are countless people that poses the talent to produce a video. It is a cost but one your talent can easily justify. Basically, there is some producer out there that could make money off of your talents while you at least document/preserve your talents. Hopefully making something off of the effort as well and determining the methods to make it work for you.

Your talent needs to be showcased before we lose them to eternity. Sorry, that kind of sounds very depressing but with the recent loss of Art, Old Fuff, James K, Bill Goforth and the like, what we currently know is in danger of being lost forever.

You seem to be a normal person like the rest of us and I suspect that you may not consider your talent in the same light as a famous nationally known name. But I personally think preserving a talent like yours is more important. I'm pretty sure our great grand kids will be able to easily find kitten videos to rot their brains on in the year 2075. It would be nice if some of those kids could actually stumble on one of your videos.

I actually hope you are in your 20's and I haven't offended you by associating you with the above list. But I suspect, by your talent, you are significantly more, shall we say, Mature than your 20's.

I have no idea how to find a producer like I describe. If it were me, I'd call/contact somebody famous and ask them how to find someone. Maybe a Larry Potterfield or the like. You never know where things end up. Even so, I have always been amazed at how helpful strangers can be if you start the conversation with "I need an expert opinion and I couldn't think of a better source". Most often the person I first ask cant help but they direct me to someone who can. I remember using this tactic in letters using USPS back in the early 80's. I'm old and flattery just doesn't seem to fade away with time.

If nothing else, I hope to see more of your work here. Thanks.

Not the gun built, but the thing that I was responding to with that comment. I have a theur design 22 short and it absolutely is recognizable as a gun, but the comment I was responding to was about some firearm that would essentially be held entirely in the fist with only a super short barrel poking out. Would classify as a disguised weapon, and would therefore be an NFA item like an inkpen gun.

Not at all an easy gun to shoot well, even at three yards. The best method seems to be to just point and fire. It's neither more or less accurate than try to aim, so why waste time? :D
Thankfully this was never meant to be a practical proposition. We'll see what results practice brings.

Oh, and Johnm1- I'll be 58 next week. :)

They actually did do a few ones like that forgotten weapons has a couple of videos one called the Shattuck (sp) unique comes to mind and one that had some nice detailed engraving too. I don't know if he ever did one on the palm protector but that was a weird one too looked a bit like a ufo with a barrel on the end.
