I bought it yesterday morning at a local FFL. Last week, I'd looked at a pair on his milsurp rack, but the better of the two had been purchased. I inspected the remaining rifle, which had clearly seen service time, and tried to haggle a bit on the $149 price. He wouldn't come off the price, but said he'd check his stockroom for another one. He brought out a box and a rag, opened it, and inside was a blond stock SKS covered in cosmolene. Since, he said, it was covered up, he sold it to me for $149; accessories and all. I took it home, opened the box, and inside was an unissued carbine with all matching numbers!! I made a work area on my deck, mixed a bucket of Murphy's Oil Soap and hot water, and proceeded to scrub the stock. After that, I used generic WD-40 to clean the outer metal parts, mag well, and bolt group. I've cleaned it enough to handle it, but I didn't have enough time to complete the job. I'll post some pictures this afternoon. I'd initially considered a Romanian SAR, but the fit, finish, and overall ergonomics of this carbine took that notion right out of my head.
